  To all members and vsitors:
If you would like to register for the Conference, please, send you request to Natalia Gorecki, MD - Secretary/Treasurer of R-AMA at mne@losch.net or to info@russiandoctors.org
Registration fee:
Practicing physicians - $50
All other participants - $15
We need to get this information well before the Conference, so we can arrange for the hotels, transportation, dining and cultural events.
You do not have to be a member of R-AMA to attend the Conference.
For those people who are outside of the US and would like to participate, we will send an official invitation.
All expences for the Conference - travel, hotel, meals, registration fee etc. are tax-deductible.

To all members of R-AMA, of this Forum and all interested people:
Now, since the Ohio Chapter meeting is over, the focus of my attention will move to Boston Conference.
We will need a lot of help. Please, do your part.
1. First of all, register early, it is very important, because we have to prepare a lot of things and we need to know the number of participants.
Write to Natalia Gorecki, MD, Ivan Alpatov, MD or me.
2. We are working on the scientific program for the Conference, please, register, if you want to present. We have only few slots left.
3. We will need help with mailing different materials to people. There will be a lot of printing, writing, editing, labels etc.
4. I am working on adaptation of the by-laws for the Chapters - Ohio, Massachusetts, Student - there will be more.
5. Ed Brown and I are working on the 501(c)(3) status for R-AMA
6. For all new and existing members - if you did not pay your membership fee yet, please, do it now.
7. Facilities, food, transportation, equipment.
8. Sponsors.
9. Media (American and Russian TV, newspapers, radio)
10. Invitations. Who do you want to see there to help solve your problems.
11. What do you want to see in the cultural program? Tour of Boston, dinner on a boat over Charles River, Museum of Fine Arts? What else - it is Boston after all.
There are other issues and I will describe them in an update letter that you will receive by the end of May.
Please, help.

To everyone who plans to attend the Conference:
If you are coming, and/ or planning to present, please, register. We need to know the number of people who will participate, so we can plan accordingly.
If you plan to fly, now is, probably, the best time to get your airplane tickets. It is only $136 round trip from Cleveland, no stops.

For those people who work in academic institutions:
Ask you chairman about coverege of Conference expences. Since it is a conference with Level 1 CME accreditation from Tufts University, they may be willing to pay for travel, lodging and registration. Try it.

Since many people are asking the same questions about the cost of the Conference:
Send registration fees to 36100 Euclid Avenue, Suite 430, Willoughby, OH 44094. Make check payable to R-AMA.
You can definetely bring a guest. There is no additional fee.
There will be a small nominal cost for both dinners (for legal and tax purposes we cannot make them free). Breakfast and lunch will be free of charge.

A lot of people registered for the Conference last week - NY, NJ, MI, KY, IN, OH, PA, WA, TX etc.
The hotel that has a contract with the St. Elizabeth Hospital has a preferred rate of $149 for us. They did not yet set aside any rooms because we could not tell how many people will be attending. Please, let me know about your intentions as soon as possible, so we can secure rooms.
I undersatnd that the price may be steep for some. Please, let me know also. There are plenty of different hotels around. We can work with them also.

About the Conference:
Many people are registering now and many questions arise.
Rental car:
The hospital is pretty close to Downtown. Boston has a good public transportation (bus and T) system (tram). I will not be getting any rental cars. It is up to you, if you want one, but remember that parking in Boston is VERY expensive. There will be a shuttle from the hotel to the Conference.
Hotel:
We had an agreement with the Double Tree Hotel and they will keep a block of rooms for us at $149 (regular price is $209). I will be talking to the manager again tomorrow, so if you have trouble reserving a room, please, let me know.
The are plenty of hotels around if you choose not to stay at the Double Tree. You just have to look for it yourself. It should not be very difficult.
We have more people registering to speak, so agenda will change a bit.
I will be able to tell more about the preparations for the Conference after the July 27th Board meeting.

No. If the idea had come up from the beginning we could have posted it and it would be ok. It's too late now. Leave everything as it is.

OK.
Next year - those who did not register by the deadline should pay a somewhat higher registration fee. It is difficult to organize and coordinate an event when you do not know if it is going to be a 100 or 300 people.
All conferences have this requirement.

you can even double it as long as you make that known right away. Next year :)

For the 3rd National Conference next year, the registration fees for members and non-members will be different, and the fees for registration before and after the deadline will be different also.
