R-AMA 1st National Conference

R-AMA now is 1.5 years old. We have 66 active members and over 150 people who are considering membership. We were not able to organize the 1st National Conference last year, but will do it this year.

Proposed location: Cleveland
Proposed time: December
Length: 1-2 days over the weekend

Please, post your ideas here. We need everyone's help on deciding several issues:
- Registration and who is planning to attend
- Agenda: One topic is clear so far - organizational questions
- Clinical sections/CME
- Sponsorship
- Elections

There will be a small registration fee.
Several drug and medical equipment companies are interested in providing support.

November 29-30, 2003
December 6-7, 2003
December 13-14, 2003

Friday is a first day of registration. Sunday we only plan a morning session.

If anyone needs help with reservations for transportation or hotel, please, let me know.

So far 18 members from NY, IL, KY, OH, PA and other states confirmed their participation, and more people will come from other Ethnic medical associations, press, TV, local doctors etc.

Agenda of the Conference is forming. We will hold elections of the Board of Directors, Chairs of several different Committees of R-AMA and the President of the Association.

We have the ability to organize communication with telephone conference and MS Web Meeting soft.

A lot of work is done and it will be a good event.

Have other ideas, please, let us know.

Russian restaurant is reserved for the dinner on Saturday.

If anyone is interested in seeing Cleveland, please, let us know the specific requests, we will look for detailed info. Cleveland has the famous Rock-n-roll Hall of Fame, many world-class museums, Symphony Orchestra, Playhouse Theater District, comedy clubs, excellent restaurants, not to mention Cavs, where "The King" LeBron James noiw plays (well, cannot get tickets).

TV is coming, both Russian newspapers in Cleveland will publish info about the Conference. Other things are coming.

There are changes still being made to the Agenda and it feels like the final version will not be available until the 5th.

We registered alot more people than we expected even in the best of the prognoses. Just today 5 more people registered.
